LONDON -- If you're making a movie about WikiLeaks, this is the kind of thing you probably see coming.
Julian Assange says he has obtained a leaked copy of the script for "The Fifth Estate," a DreamWorks film about the maverick computer expert and his famed secret-busting site. In a speech before the Oxford Union debating society earlier this week, Assange said his unauthorized sneak peek has left him convinced the film is a hit piece.
"It is a mass propaganda attack against WikiLeaks, the organization (and) the character of my staff," he said, adding that the movie – the opening scenes of which Assange described as taking place in Tehran and Cairo – also hyped Western fears over the Islamic Republic's disputed atomic energy program.
"It is not just an attack against us, it is an attack against Iran. It fans the flames of an attack against Iran," he said.
A DreamWorks spokeswoman declined to comment on Assange's claims.
In a telephone interview late Friday, Assange said that the film's plot revolves around a fictional mole in Iran's nuclear program who discovers that the country has nearly finished building an atom bomb and will soon be in a position to load it onto ballistic missiles. The film has the informant fleeing to Iraq when WikiLeaks publishes his name among its massive trove of classified material.
Assange says the whole story is "a lie built on a lie," claiming that the U.S. intelligence community generally believes that Iran stopped comprehensive secret work on developing nuclear arms in 2003, and that, in any case, the world had yet to see evidence of a case in which WikiLeaks had exposed a CIA informant.
"They tried to frame Iran as having an active nuclear weapons program. Then they try to frame WikiLeaks as the reason why that's not known to the public now," Assange said, comparing the movie to Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty," another film whose artistic liberties with recent history have drawn allegations of political bias.
Assange declined to say where he got the script, although he hinted that he had been supplied with several copies of it over time. He also declined to say whether the script would be posted to the WikiLeaks website, saying only that "we are examining options closely."
"The Fifth Estate" stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Assange and Daniel Bruhl as Daniel Domscheit-Berg, an early Assange ally who eventually fell out with WikiLeaks.
The film is due for release in November, and in a statement earlier this week director Bill Condon was quoted as saying that those behind the movie want "to explore the complexities and challenges of transparency in the information age" and "enliven and enrich the conversations WikiLeaks has already provoked."
Assange made his comments to the Oxford Union on Wednesday via videolink from the Ecuadorean Embassy in London, where he has been holed up for more than six months in a bid to avoid extradition to Sweden as part of a long-running sex crimes case.

Los Angeles police responded to a false emergency call reporting domestic violence at his home.
The incident happened around 5pm local time on Monday, but when officers arrived they discovered the singer was not at home.
Police searched the address, spoke to household staff and found no problems.
Swatters make false emergency calls, aiming to summon large numbers of police to the home of a celebrity.
The term comes from the specialised Swat (Special Weapons and Tactics) teams which often respond to serious incidents involving firearms or risk to life.
Brown, 23, was sentenced to five years' probation in 2009 for attacking his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna.
Last week, Los Angeles police also responded to a fake armed robbery call-out at Tom Cruise's house.
Other swatting targets have included pop stars Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, as well as Two and a Half Men actor Ashton Kutcher.
A 12-year-old boy was charged in relation to the Bieber and Kutcher incidents, in which there were claims of a threat from a gunman.
Police said he had made the calls via text, using a computer programme designed for hearing-impaired people.
There is no suggestion that the same boy is responsible for the latest swatting prank.
Colombian pop star Shakira and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique have announced the birth of their son Milan.

A man accused of stalking Mila Kunis has been ordered to stay away from the Black Swan star for the next 10 years.
Los Angeles County prosecutors said 27-year-old Stuart Dunn had pleaded "no contest" to the charge of stalking.
Spokeswoman Jane Robison said Dunn was also ordered to complete six months of residential rehab.
He was also put on probation for five years.
Dunn has repeatedly been arrested in his pursuit of 29-year-old Kunis.
In February 2012 he was arrested for breaking into her home, which was empty at the time.
The authorities arrested him again in May after he waited for her outside her gym for three days.
Superior Court Judge George Lomeli gave Dunn credit for the 528 days he had spent in jail.
He was also ordered to stay away from Kunis' agents, managers and assistants.
The Ukrainian-born actress had previously been the victim of a man who hacked into her emails along with those of Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera and a number of other women.
Christopher Chaney, 35, was jailed for 10 years in December after he pleaded guilty to offences that included wiretapping and unauthorised access to a computer.

Disgraced John Galliano is returning to the fashion industry with a temporary role at Oscar de la Renta's New York studio.
The British designer, who was once heralded as one of the most talented names in fashion, was fired in 2011 by fashion house Dior after being caught on camera making anti-Semitic remarks in a Paris cafe.
He will spend three weeks with de la Renta as he prepares for his forthcoming New York Fashion Week show.
"He has worked long and hard on his recovery, and I'm happy to give him the opportunity to re-immerse himself in the world of fashion and re-acclimate in an environment where he has been so creative," de la Renta said.
He said he had known Galliano for many years and added: "I'm a great admirer of his talent."
Galliano, 52, said an addiction to drugs and alcohol had caused him to lose control, and that he was determined to make amends.

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson has returned to Broadway to star in a new revival of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.
Johansson last appeared on Broadway in 2010 when she won a Tony Award for her part in Arthur Miller's A View From The Bridge.
In Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Tennessee Williams' 1955 Pulitzer-winning play, Johansson plays Maggie, a Southern belle who married into a wealthy family to escape poverty.
But she is having problems with her husband Brick, played by Benjamin Walker and fears for his inheritance.
After its premiere on Thursday Johansson told Reuters news agency that she is happy to be back on stage.
"It's wonderful to be back on Broadway. I am born and raised in New York and grew up just dreaming about some day of treading the boards and you know to be able to have this opportunity in such a wonderful production is, it's just a dream come true for me."
Many actresses including Elizabeth Taylor, Jessica Lange and Kathleen Turner have portrayed Maggie.
The Lost In Translation star said that it was a challenge to follow in their footsteps but "seemed like the right challenge for me".
"I knew that I wanted to do it, I didn't know how I would do it, but I knew that I could do it. I thought, I hope so. And it just seemed that all the pieces just fit into place."
Johansson said the part demanded a lot of stamina. "I spend a lot of time on stage, and I spend a lot of time talking to Brick which is essentially like talking to no one at times.
"And I think just the stamina of just doing a three hour show has been a bit draining."
Walker praised Johansson for her on-stage performance, saying: "The fact that she is attractive is kind of the least interesting thing about her.
"She is so highly intelligent, and so is Maggie. In the same way that Maggie is a real modern woman, so is Scarlett."
The revival, the second in three years, received mixed reviews but Johansson's part in it was largely praised.
The Associated Press said: "Scarlett Johansson turns in a nifty turn as Maggie, finding humour and barely hidden desperation in her role as frustrated wife and mother-to-be."
The Guardian said: "Johansson should get plenty of audience members purring. But despite these charms, director Rob Ashford's production is little more than a star vehicle, erratically driven."
The New York Times said it did not live up to her previous Broadway appearance but added: "Ms Johansson confirms her promise as a stage actress of imposing presence and adventurous intelligence."
Johansson is reportedly being paid $40,000 (£25,000) a week for her role as Maggie, plus at least 7.5% of ticket sales when the show reaches a certain financial threshold.
The play also stars Belfast-born Ciaran Hinds as family patriarch "Big Daddy" Pollitt and Debra Monk as his wife "Big Mama".
It will run at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway until March 30.
The Sundance Film Festival 2013 has kicked off, with screenings, a gala and a party to celebrate independent films.
Instead of one star-studded premiere, five separate screenings gave audiences a taste of the diversity that is one of the festival's main themes.

Sundance founder Robert Redford said diversity was "the point" of the annual independent film showcase, which is held in Park City, Utah.
Now in its 35th year, there are contributions from 32 countries and 51 first-time filmmakers.
"As long as we go forward and we adapt to change, we keep in touch with our original purpose which is simply to support and develop new voices to be seen and heard," Redford said at a news conference
The purpose of Sundance was to create a platform for low-budget filmmakers and people that have experienced life changing events to tell their story.
It has helped launch the careers of Quentin Tarantino, Steven Soderbergh and Robert Rodriguez, while such Academy Awards contenders as In The Bedroom, Little Miss Sunshine, Precious and Winter's Bone premiered at the festival.
Asked where independent film would be without the festival, Redford said: "I don't think it would be as vibrant and healthy if it wasn't for Sundance."
This year's Oscar nominations show the ripple effect Sundance has for highlighting low-budget films.
Beasts Of The Southern Wild, which was the top prize winner at Sundance last year, picked up four Academy Award nominations, including best picture, best director for first-time filmmaker Benh Zeitlin and best actress for nine-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis, who had never acted before.
"That's why we're here," Redford said.
"When somebody comes out of nowhere and with our support goes somewhere, that's a real pleasure to me."

The couple divorced after five years in 2010 and Elin is currently spending a lot of time and money on creating her dream home, rebuilding a $12 million North Palm Beach estate in Florida.
Since their divorce, Elin has dated several men, including wealthy financier Jamie Dingman.
The stunning Swede, who recently showed off her flawless figure while on holiday in the Bahamas with her children and family, has been spotted around South Florida with professional hockey player Douglas Murray, who she was first romantically linked to in July 2012.
However the NHL player didn’t appear to be vacationing with Elin and her family at the exclusive Paradise Island resort.
A source told the Enquirer: 'Tiger swore that he'd never cheat on her again, but Elin told him that she didn't believe him.'
The magazine claims that Tiger even got down on one knee and proposed, presenting Elin with a ring for Christmas.
The Enquirer also alleges the couple are having sex again and a source claimed: 'Tiget stopped by Elin's rental house one afternoon when their kids were out with a nanny and they had sex for the first time since the split.
'It took them both by surprise, but they've continued to find alone time when they're both at their homes in Florida.

Tiger is believed to have been left upset after seeing pictures of Elin frolicking with a young hunk on the beach at the Atlantic resort in the Bahamas earlier this month.
However, he then discovered the man was Elin's brother Axel.
The source said: 'Tiger breathed a sigh of relief. He and Elin actually got a big laugh out of it.
'Tiger told me 'I love Elin. Without her, I'll be miserable for the rest of my life.'
The lawyer for troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has entered a not guilty plea for the star on three misdemeanour charges filed after a car accident in California in June.
Shawn Holley entered the plea on Lohan's behalf during a brief hearing in Los Angeles. Lohan did not attend the arraignment, but must appear in court on January 30.
The actress is accused of lying to police, reckless driving and obstructing police from performing their duties.
Lohan allegedly told officers she was not driving the car at the time of the Pacific Coast Highway crash, but police say she was the one behind the wheel.
Lohan was on probation for a 2011 necklace theft case when the crash happened, and she could be sent to jail for up to 245 days if a judge determines she violated her probation by lying.
The actress was released from supervised probation in March after several months of court appearances. She also had to work as a cleaner at a morgue.
Once considered one of Hollywood's next bankable actresses, Lohan's professional life has foundered in recent years.
Her portrayal last year of silver screen icon Elizabeth Taylor in the TV movie Liz & Dick was roundly panned by critics as "woeful", and the poor reception failed to propel her back onto the A-list.

The 34-year-old said builder and part-time stripper Kieran Hayler proposed over a Christmas dinner, adding that "when something feels right I just go for it".
Price told The Sun On Sunday her 25-year-old fiance "treats her like a princess" and is a "true gentleman".
The mother-of-three, who has previously been married to Australian singer Peter Andre and cage fighter Alex Reid, split from Argentinian model Leandro Penna, who she was also engaged to, in October.
She said Hayler is a "normal guy" who loves her children.
"It just feels right. I know what people will say about me because I've heard it all before.
"But life is short so when something feels right, I just go for it."
The pair began tweeting pictures and messages to each other in recent weeks.
Hayler is reported to be a plasterer who works for a building firm and is also a part-time stripper who has appeared in EastEnders.
Price has two children, Junior, aged seven, and Princess, aged five, with Andre.
The pair met on reality TV show I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2005, but divorced in 2009.
She married Reid in 2010 but split from the 36-year-old less than a year later.
Price also has a son, Harvey, aged 10, with ex-Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke.
